Dubai Metro Interchange Stations
There are five interchange stations on the Dubai Metro. In an interchange station, you can switch the Metro Line and take the opposite route to get where you want to go. These interchange locations are already noted on our Metro Map of Dubai.
The Metro stations at Union and Burjuman have two Red Line interchanges. One change is a branch line at Jabal Ali. Additionally, there are two more Red Line interchanges with Dubai Tram stations, which come together at DMCC and SOBHA REALTY.

Dubai Metro Fares and Zones
The Dubai Metro has fixed fares based on the Tier system. It has three tiers.

Over time, each tier’s fares could change. Seniors and students receive a special discount, while those with disabilities do not pay any fares.
There are seven distinct zones for traffic in Dubai. The Dubai Metro region does not contain three of these traffic zones in Dubai. The zones for Dubai Metro stations are 1, 2, 5, and 6. There are busier regions of Dubai public transportation in traffic zones 3, 4, and 7. Therefore, bear in mind that when figuring out your trip ticket, you need account for additional zones if you are taking a bus after using the metro.
Dubai Metro Ticket Price & NOL Card
The number of Dubai Metro Zones you travel through determines the cost of your ticket. Additionally, the cost of a Dubai Metro ticket varies based on the zones, the distance traveled, and the quality of train cabin.

Dubai Metro Transport System
One of the more advanced transportation systems in use today is that of Dubai. In Dubai, United Arab Emirates, there is a state-of-the-art rail system that is totally automated. The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) of the United Arab Emirates operates this transportation system. It is well renowned for its effectiveness, tidiness, and ease, providing both locals and visitors with a first-rate means of navigating the city. The Future of Urban Transit
The driverless, contemporary train system in Dubai is called the Metro. One of the main reasons the government launched the Dubai Metro was to lessen traffic in the city. The first step in achieving this goal was the Metro project in Dubai. In addition, it lessens traffic on the roads by enabling locals to take the Dubai Metro rather than drive their automobiles. With the successful launch of this driverless Dubai Metro scheme, over 5 million people use the metro system each month. It still leads Dubai’s public transportation system.
Dubai’s Geographic and Urban Transit

Dubai Metro Red, Green and Blue Lines

Two lines have been constructed. Similarly, another is scheduled to open in 2021.
Dubai Metro Red Line
The Dubai Metro Red Line ascends to UAE Exchange from Centerpoint. There is an extension of this route to the Expo 2020 location. This route is approximately 52.1 kilometers long overall, of which 5 kilometers are subterranean. Beginning in 2005, the Red Line’s construction was finished by the end of 2009. This project, which includes Green Line, has 35 stops and an estimated cost of 7.6 billion US dollars. This indicates that this route will cost roughly 102.2 million US dollars per kilometer on average. The maximum speed allowed on this line is around 95 kmph (59 mph), and the approximate duration of the trip is 70 minutes.
Dubai Metro Green Line
The Dubai Metro Green Line, which has 20 operational stations overall, links Etisalat By e& with Creek. This line is measured to be 22.5 kilometers long overall, with 7.9 kilometers under ground. There are eight Metro stations below ground. This line’s construction began in 2006, however it didn’t end by the scheduled completion date because of a global crisis.
The planned completion date of March 2010 was pushed back due to setbacks; however, the line was formally opened in September 2011. As was previously indicated, this line was built at a total cost of around 7.6 billion US dollars, or 28 billion AED, alongside the Red Line. The approximate cost per kilometer was 102.2 million. It takes 40 minutes to complete a trip, has a maximal speed of 110 km/h (68 mph), and pauses every 20 to 30 seconds at stations.
Dubai Metro Blue Line
The Red Line and the Green Line, which connect different sections of Dubai such as commercial centers, residential neighborhoods, and key attractions, are the two main lines that make up the metro. The latest addition to the Red and Green lines is the Dubai Metro Blue line. The RTA intends to begin service using the Dubai Metro Blue Line in 2029. The project is currently underway.
Dubai Metro Route 2024
The goal of the Dubai Metro green line is to link Expo 2020 with Jabal Ali. The end of 2018 was the suggested completion date when the construction first began in 2017. The Road and Transportation Authority (RTA) claims that although it is not yet operating, it will be by May 2020. With seven operational stations, the line has a total length of approximately 14.5 kilometers. This project is expected to cost roughly 2.45 billion US dollars, with a cost per kilometer estimated at 186 million US dollars. Since the line is not yet operating, neither the journey time nor the average speed are known.
